So where do we get the NookColor enabled version?

Hi Ansca,

as some of your developers already having Corona apps out in the Nook App Store, I wonder if you need a specific version for that.

Do we?

Cheers

Nevermind, I just read that I won’t be ableto publish there anyway. Only US companies can. Requiring a US Bankaccount and US tax ID rules me out. [import]uid: 5712 topic_id: 9300 reply_id: 33948[/import]

Looks like non-US developers will not be part of this program(me)!

We’re very interested in participating but also note that developers need a US bank account and Tax ID - not insurmountable but a major hassle for independent studios.

What’s the deal Ansca? [import]uid: 2646 topic_id: 9300 reply_id: 34090[/import]

Angry Birds is on the NOOK App store. Barnes & Noble will have an update in regards to international app support. I can’t speak for B&N and Rovio, but if Angry Birds is available, that means that Rovio (makers of AB) has to have some sort of international tax ID number or something similar.

I just registered (and got approved) as an App Developer and I am in Melbourne. Read in the forums that international companies can apply. In the developer “configuration” I see Account section that is US centric, i.e. SSN fields, Tax entity etc. The bank account fields are sort of open ended. I presume you can at least submit a free app and Barnes and Nobles will sort out the international payment part soon (perhaps follow the model of Amazon.com Appstore).

@Carlos Do we need to use a Nook specific coronasdk build to submit at the moment? I presume the Nook specific API will be made available to tap into it’s platform specific features.

Thanks for the update, Carlos.

I think that a company of the size and success of Rovio can probably cope with setting up a US operation … unlike us one man and a dog outfits

I know it is possible to get as US Tax ID (EIN) from the IRS, in order to comply with their tax-withholding regulations (I’ve checked as you need one to publish iBooks too and they say on their website you can do it over the phone) but setting up a US bank account is probably trickier.

You will need a CoronaSDK for NOOK to publish. It is going to be available soon. There are key API’s for iAP, Social and B&N in-store awareness. Give us about a month to roll out early beta. But you can use the current Pro license to develop. Once the Corona SDK for NOOK is out, you can build and take advantage of NOOKs interfaces, etc.

Hi Carlos

Can you tell us if we are able to test on a nook with todays build (for dev purposes only) – I know the SDK is needed for some of the nook specific but I’d like to get a head start and get basic logic and graphics tuned up (I don’t own a nook but if I can install on a retail one for dev puposes that would meet my needs)

Do you have a Galaxy Tab? Use that instead. The issue will be that the NOOK requires the NOOK Android SDK From B&N with conjunction with Corona even for testing purposes.

GIve me a few days and when we have a timeframe to roll out the early adopter program, we can have a more palatable solution instead of using ./adb -r install

Did you sign up for the early access notice?

Goto http://www.anscamobile.com/nook and sign up

I don’t have a tab - I have a nexus one & original droid (I’m hoping that Google might spring something tablety our way after Google IO).

I did sign up for early access so we’ll see what happens.

Hey by the way, are you guys going to be at Google IO? If so is there any kind of Corona meetup or BOF we can do?
