Hello everyone!,
I’m working on a game project with a small team. I’m not the developer, but our developer is using Corona.
We’ve run into a bit of a challenge and I was hoping somebody might be able to help.
We are creating a tower defence game. We are using a 2D image for our map art and 3D animated models exported as sprite sheets for the game assets.
Shadow and lighting effects are been added to the map art and models before the they are added to Corona.
The game takes place on a number of planets in the solar system and because they all have different ambient light settings we want to try and stay as true to this as we possibly can.
Because the towers are on a different layer to the map art we are using a white ambient light for everything.
The idea is that we then introduce a solid block canvas of a single colour that matches that of the planet which the level takes place on.
Simply adding a block colour layer and setting the transparancy to 10 - 30% just makes it look a bit murky.
In Photoshop there is a setting called ‘soft light’ which you can apply to the layer. Is there a way to achieve something similar in Cornona?
Many thanks for your help.
