Solar2d simulator does not work with the Internet

Hello everyone!
I have a problem with the Solar2D simulator on Windows: it loads slowly when the Internet is on and does not work. I just see a black screen and the standard green Windows boot bar, like when some system application freezes. Everything works as expected without the Internet. In general, I can work without the Internet. But then how do I build? Has anyone encountered a similar problem and how to solve it?
I used both build 2024.3709 and the latest 2024.3722 - the simulator with the Internet does not work.
Or maybe someone knows the reasons for this?

I haven’t been using Solar2D on a Windows machine in a while, so none of my advice is particularly current. That said, thinking back to weird problems from the forums, VPNs, firewalls and in once case a new router have caused people to have weird problems with Solar2D in the past.

Couple of suggestions:
Restart your computer, and start Solar2D before you launch any other programs.
Turn off firewalls and antivirus programs.
Pull up the Task Manager and see if some other process spikes when you launch Solar2D.
If you’re on a laptop, try going somewhere else and connecting to a different internet source.

I know these suggestions are not terribly specific, but considering the lack of “I’m having this problem too!” responses, it sounds like it’s something particular to your setup.

Most likely this is just a daily refresh of plugins… if your internet is awful and you have many plugins to update then this may take a long time!

Maybe related to yesterday’s network slow on GitHub.

Thank you all for the clarifications! I really observed the slow operation of both my Internet and GitHub in those days. Also, I haven’t opened Solar2D with the Internet for a long time and the plugins haven’t been updated. I left the simulator for a while with the “loading”, and it worked! :grinning:

Ah, the best kind of problem: One that goes away by itself.
