[SOLVED] Bug in the event.text of textfield listener

  1. Create a textfield and print the event.text in the phase “editiing”

  2. Type any word inside the textfield

  3. Edit the word inserting a letter anywhere except in the end

  4. The event.text will return the former text you entered with the new letter in the end, always!

Bug submitted to Corona (#27149).

+1 on this we’d like to update our app to be iOS 7 compatible but can’t until this bug has been fixed since we deal with a lot of textfields and commenting.

Edit: Btw can’t find the bug report in the bug base. Has it been fixed and I’m just missing something or was it removed?

I opened that bug 1 month ago and didn’t receive any contact from Corona. That is really a shame, I am pretty sure they would fix that in less than 20 minutes…

And I watched a presentation from Walter saying about how Corona can work great for business app, but man, textFields/textBoxes does not work anything near ok with storyboard, forcing you to make your own inputText widget. But then, you make your own and face these kind of bugs…

Where did you look for the bug case?

Yeah wish they would look into it asap as it’s such a fundamental thing for textfields and is needed now along with the iOS 7 update.

I tried looking it up at http://bugs.anscamobile.com, tried searching the register for it but found none.

I have just bumped this issue to the engineers for prompt investigation. I’ll keep you posted.

Thanks,

Brent
