Yikes, but this time, when I entered just “unlock” (without adding the package identifier in front of it), it didn’t give me the error message. I could’ve sworn I tried “unlock” yesterday, but I guess I didn’t. And… urgh, I know why all these things didn’t work – it’s because I had a UPPERCASE letter included in my stupid product ID (and it wasn’t obvious). This is what happens when I copy and paste things. If I typed in the product ID, I would’ve spotted the fact I used the UPPERCASE letter.
No matter what Product ID I choose, I get this error message that reads “Your entry has been used or is reserved.” I thought, maybe, I need to reboot my Mac, but it didn’t help. I also thought maybe I just need to wait for my account to somehow update within Developer Console – so I’ve waited a day. But I still get the same old error message. I googled to see if anyone has ever encountered this problem, but I have not found any page/post anywhere regarding this. Surely, I could not be the only person who has faced this roadblock. I would so appreciate any hint, tips, suggestion, etc. that I may try to get past this roadblock.
Here’s what I have done so far:
-
I’ve read through this blog post, and followed the instruction the best I can.
-
I have uploaded APK file (but not published it yet), and I found my game listed under Google Play Android app listings on Developer Console with a link for In-app Products.
-
I clicked on In-app Products, which led me to another screen with Add in-app product button.
-
It brought me to Create New In-app Product screen. I selected Purchase Type, entered In-app Product ID, entered Title, Description, Price, and then hit Auto Fill, and hit Save button.
-
All it does after I hit Save button is to highlight the In-app Product ID that I entered with a red text stating that Your entry has been used or is reserved. I even tried hitting Publish button, but with the same result.
-
I read what I can learn about Product ID, including the detailed instruction for creating Product ID described here. But nowhere does it mention about this error message.
Please note, I use very unique product ID (which pretty much mirror the IAP products for iOS version). In fact, I even tried stripping down to very simple text (such as “unlock”) to see if it would save, but it gives me the same error message.
Am I the only person who has ever encountered this roadblock? What am I doing wrong?
