[Solved] No sound on iPad 2 (any iPad)

Some of our users are complaing about sound not working in ipad2. The app was released with Corona 695 or 702. Some of they are reporting iOS version 4.3.

Did you have any trouble like this with iPad2?

We don’t have an iPad2 right now, so, could someone take a look at this?

I have a new version build with Corona 746, if you would like to try it on the iPad2 to see if the problem remains, I can send a Ad Hoc to test, just send your UDID to my mail: maykelsb [at] whitevortex.com

Works perfect on my iPad 2, running on iOS 5.01

This may sound silly but if it’s only one or two users make sure you ask them if their iPad is hooked up to a dock at the time.

Docks can prevent sound from playing if they have their own audio out.

Hi Joakin! Hi Peach!
Thank you for your reply, and your time.

I sent some of them this question, lets see what we get from them.
I got an iPad2, and I’m trying to do a downgrade to iOS 4.3.3 but without success. =/ [import]uid: 50425 topic_id: 21819 reply_id: 87077[/import]

I don’t know much about downgrading but I think it’s cool you could use this as an excuse for a new iPad  [import]uid: 52491 topic_id: 21819 reply_id: 87245[/import]

We have had no reports of any real problems like this. All the problems like this were user errors.

In addition to the dock, make sure:

  • the mute switch isn’t on
  • the device volume isn’t all the way down
  • headphones aren’t plugged in
  • try rebooting the device (we’ve seen this magically fix problems in the past)

We know of one case where the device went bad (all audio was broken, not just Corona).

So, the problem was not with iPad2, but with all of them.

Great helpful link, thanks for taking the time to post a follow up to this, especially so long after the original post date. Thank you  [import]uid: 52491 topic_id: 21819 reply_id: 107381[/import]

No problem, after all, it can help someone else.
All my one star was because of that. I could not leave it unanswered/unsolved.

A curious thing, is that some users “magically” solved it, but when we asked how, they did not reply. Mostly, because it is a user error. An advanced user error, but still a user error, just as ewing and you said. [import]uid: 50425 topic_id: 21819 reply_id: 107405[/import]
