Some questions about developing for Android

Hi everyone!

We’ve released our first app on App Store (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/lightpath/id526832116?mt=8) and now we are thinking about releasing it on Google Play/Android Market, but we have some questions.

  1. Are there any review process like on App Store? If yes, how long is it?

  2. What does it cost? [import]uid: 24111 topic_id: 26814 reply_id: 326814[/import]

Answer: Not at all.
2. What does it cost?

Answer: U$25,00 one time fee for lifetime.

Rodrigo’s post is spot on.

You will need new screen shots, Google Play has their own size. You will also need some promo graphics as well, and they are likely not sizes you have in stock.

While there is no review process and your app appears to be live right away, it does take time for the search index to pick your app up, so you might not be able to see it for several hours.
Now if you want to do Amazon (straight Android App), there is a review process that seems like its a couple of day’s longer that Apple. Again, you will need different screen shots.

You cannot specifically send in a “Kindle Fire” app. Amazon will do a second review of your app to determine if it can go in the Kindle Fire store.

Amazon has a $99 a year fee, but your first year’s fee is waved.

Barnes and Noble Nook has the biggest pain in the arse registration system. You have to first register as a developer, then register as an App developer and wait on approval before you can move on. Then you have to get your accounting approved, then you can upload an app that they will also review (and guess what… new art…)

No fee though. [import]uid: 19626 topic_id: 26814 reply_id: 108875[/import]
