Sprite Makers for Corona?

I wrote my own a decade ago and since then modified it over time to fit whatever my actual needs are. For most of my needs it’s much better then any of the shelf tool but on the other side, TexturePacker has features I’ll never be able to implement as it’s just to much work and I’d be a fool to try doing so when there’s a cheap solution available already.

I’d expect there are many free tools available, a very quick google search found f.i. this one

http://free-tex-packer.com/

or this

https://www.leshylabs.com/apps/sstool/

The tools Michael linked can totally be used to do what you want.

You’ll just have to do a little scripting.  Easy peasy.  Note: If you can’t figure this out, I could probably put together an example for your using some of your artwork as a hit.

Well I realised I could do the things I wanted with Texture Packer even without paying. However it does make one of my objects colored in red; but I guess that’s fair considering I’m not paying for it.

I encourage you to buy it or use a free tool.

Texturepacker is the best few $ I ever spent… end off.

As a dev surely you expect to get paid for your work… why not the tools you use?

@garygusep2,

Hi. I just submitted a new plugin (not yet approved) that will allow you to use any of these tools to produce imagesheets, images, and sprites:

_ Note: The plugin maintains the same API signature for all helpers so if you switch from one tool to another later (or mix them in the same project), updating your code is drop-dead-simple._

Docs: https://roaminggamer.github.io/RGDocs/pages/Plugins/texturepackerhelpers/

Again, this isn’t approved yet.  I’ll make a official announcement as soon as it is.

The plugin is now available: https://forums.coronalabs.com/topic/71178-sprite-sheets-for-developers-on-a-budget/
