Spriter - 2D animation support

Hey everyone,

I recently stumbled across Spriter as a Spine alternative for 2D Animation.

The only topic concerning the support of Spriter is this one https://forums.coronalabs.com/topic/27539-offering-up-help-to-create-spriter-modular-2d-animation-support/ ranging back to 2013.

In the Spriter forums there is an more resent toptic concerning this https://brashmonkey.com/forum/index.php?/topic/4754-spriter-2-corona-early-development/ and the development of a plugin.

Spriter has come a long way since then and is supported by major platforms like Unity and Construct 2, so it would be nice to know if there is an easy way to incorporate it into a Corona project

Hi.

I did some early work on it when that old thread came up and I’ve let it mostly languish since then. :( Even then there were many features in the spec I never touched, in part because of the lack of sample models.

It has however been on my mind since working on a prototype version of meshes not so long ago. Coincidentally, Spriter’s also come up a few times recently in chat and I ended up finally buying the Steam version a couple days back as a result.

So I might have another go at it, though who knows when (lots of plugins plus regular work vying for attention). It looks like the other plugin is in a bit of a lull too. This leaves the door open for you or somebody else, of course.

Hey, thanks for your reply  I saw your posts in the old topic mentioned above.

Seems like will stick to Spine for now, instead of working into a completely new software (and implementation).

A native Spine plugin would be great performance wise
