sprites - how many images/sec do you typically use?

Starting to try to create my own animated sprites, to bring into a sprite sheet and use.

How many sprite images per second do people typical do?   I’m assuming you wouldn’t typically do 50 images/second as this would be a bit much.

So say you had a walking animation for example, that took 1 second before it should loop back, how many images would you typically have spread across this timeframe?

A typical number for walcicles is 8-10 pictures for one loop.

50 images per secong is definatly too much.

You know, in cinema they used 24 picture per second, so you don’t need more.

And even that is way to much for most animations. In some point and click adventures

they use two to four frame animations for special actions to save time and memory.
