If you have an iPhone/iPod or iPad I would seriously recommend looking at this app. I have been using it to create sprite sheets, tile maps and animated sprites. It works great. I draw on the train on my way to work, at the cafe. I just took my iPad to lake tahoe and made some sprites in the car on the way.
It exports images and CSV describing your tile maps and sequences. I wish there was a desktop version that would sync with the mobile version.
I do not sell or work for this company. I just think this is such a great app I’m sure at least a few of you might want to look into it.
I have only spent time with the iPad version so far. The iPhone/iPod version might be too small to work with. Then again you get both for the price of the iPad version. And, being able to whip up a 16x16 tile while riding the bus or sitting on the couch, riding in a cab etc. is great. You can make an icon for that beer or martini glass at the bar, or draw a pixel portrait of the bartender while drinking with your mates.
