SQLite DBs - best practice?

Hi all,

I’m developing an app for my wife’s business that makes frequent use of a SQLite DB and I’ve got a quick questions.

I’m using the StoryBoard for the various screens required for the app. In terms of best practice, is it easier/better/(right?) to open a connection to the DB in main.lua and store the connection in a global var for use throughout the app OR to open a connection on a per-screen basis?

If I open a global, is there a danger of the connection timing out after (x) amount of time - if so, is the best way to check connectivity status with db:isopen ?

TIA
