ssl / https

Hi,

Is there any form of ssl/https support in Corona - it doen’t look like it. Anybody knows if it is possible and how to do it? Seems like a must-have.

Thanks,

What? … I did not try that yet… but planed to have my data encrypted by using ssl for the final release…

I just looked up lua.socket in more detail…

Woa… great :(((

No Corona App will do secure html transfers without massive work in client and server side!

Can we have the following please? ASAP… (right after giving us the UDID…)

Ping on this question. https support is required (base level) functionality these days.

Feedback appreciated… [import]uid: 5822 topic_id: 1347 reply_id: 5753[/import]

Added as feature request #966.

all of the oauth 2.x api’s require SSL…this is a MUST HAVE to build social apps…please give us an ETA or a way to do this ourselves… [import]uid: 6175 topic_id: 1347 reply_id: 6472[/import]

good news! [import]uid: 6928 topic_id: 1347 reply_id: 6529[/import]

thanks Carlos…can you tell us what that means??

Is the “high priority list” 10 items or 500 and is SSL at the top or bottom of it.

Or forsaking all of that messy detail, just give us an ETA to have this feature?
Thanks [import]uid: 6175 topic_id: 1347 reply_id: 6536[/import]

Ansca…can we get an update on this…social apps using oauth are completely on hold until this is addressed [import]uid: 6175 topic_id: 1347 reply_id: 7231[/import]

Any news on this? I haven’t followed ansca because I can’t make something that can ship without it… [import]uid: 5822 topic_id: 1347 reply_id: 8484[/import]

Can I give my next 10 votes on this one?

Carlos, this is really something that is necessary these days.
Honestly, I took it for granted that HTTPS is supported, didn’t even check prior purchasing. :frowning:

Any chance we get this soon?
I’m OK with corona implementation, third party, absolutely anything as long as it works?

Thanks. [import]uid: 11046 topic_id: 1347 reply_id: 12942[/import]

Carlos,

http://www.anscamobile.com/corona/roadmap/

OAuth is on the Top Priority, and OAuth 2.x requires SSL. So I’m inferring here that SSL is on the short Top Priorities list.

December 2010 is the upcoming release, so does this mean that we can expect the items in Top Priorities in Feb-Mar 2011?

something like that … give or take a few years… NOT!

Yes.

Always nice to see a company a) listening to its customers and b) prioritizing smartly.

No wonder Ansca Corona is a winner… [import]uid: 5822 topic_id: 1347 reply_id: 12986[/import]

I just looked at the new SDK release and though I really love what’s in it (really, great job), I have a hard timing finding mention of SSL/HTTPS? Is it there (and if so, please post an example), or…?

I think big C was saying around Feb-Mar 2011. [import]uid: 10640 topic_id: 1347 reply_id: 13411[/import]

Yes, we may have it earlier but right now is looking like Mid January…

Hey guys,

Either the whole https thing is very poorly documented, or I’m missing something…
Or both

So, I have two questions…

  1. Can I use HTTPS with the old synchronous http.request?
  2. Doesn’t matter if I do it with http.request, or network.request, how do I send a request to a HTTPS url that requires authentication? I’ve tried every variant I could think of, but no dice.

Any help is appreciated… thanks.

Any word on the street when this will be implemented? I’m a new Corona user (close to handing over my cash) and my first real project will eventually require a more secure connection (https).
Loving Corona by the way and appreciate the level of support around here. [import]uid: 40116 topic_id: 1347 reply_id: 44262[/import]
