StartApp not loading from server.

Adding this to my build file:

["plugin.startapp"] = { publisherId = "com.coronalabs" },

Returns the following error when it relaunches: “The following plugin could not be downloaded: com.coranalabs/plugin.startapp”

Is it something on my side? Is it not supported any longer?

Adrian

Are you building for iOS or Android?

What version of Corona are you using?

StartApp is a new plugin that’s only available for Android.

Rob

@Rob, I was able to confirm this with Corona 2017.3188, building from a Windows machine, for Android.

Still investigating… if I find any details I’ll post back.

@agramonte - I can’t update right now, but consider trying 3189.  3188 may be too old for this.  As Rob said, this is a new plugin.

@Rob, I looked at the repository and from what I’m seeing the files are dated 24 Dec, so even 3188 may be too old for this, thus my suggestion above.

Thank you. I’ll try 3189. Still looking for banners that will work on Amazon apps. Gave up on the banners for applovin.

No love. 3189 same error. I guess I’ll wait. If nothing works was thinking of creating a plugin for Amazon Ads just for banners and just for FireOS.

Why not use AdMob?

Honestly, it doesn’t really work for me. I know a lot of people make money through either user buying the app or through in-app purchase. I don’t. Most of my money comes from advertising.

Admob on Amazon for me results in:

  1. Ads that link to the google app store (which get blocked and directed to amazon app store) and don’t count as clicks or revenue.

  2. Ads that are for random things that nobody wants to click on and have terrible eCPM.

I use the Admob plugin for everything else with great results.

Adrian

I should have been more clear.  StartApp appears to be only available for Google Play based Android OS. I don’t see a folder with a plugin for “android-kindle”.  It also requires build 3135 or later to use.

Are you building for a target app store of “Google Play” or “Amazon”?

Rob

I built for Google Play

Let me share this with engineering.

Rob

Sorry, plugin docs have a small error. publisherId should be “com.startapp”. We will fix it.

thank you, it now works.
