Steps needed before creating this app..

Hello. I’m getting the hang of Corona now and starting to notice myself not having to stay glued to the API Docs haha so now on the something a little more difficult.

I love creating little simple games with corona but I have my eyes set on a couple business apps. I feel like it would take a little time to develop though. The main idea of the app is donation. Of course I want to start making a profit of my work. My question to you guys is has anyone every worked with a donation app where the users are very involved? How would you the developer make a profit/ percentage on a donation app.

Ex. Say someone buys a product from a store that has their own price listed buy people buy from your app. How is profit calculated? You you work things out with the store? Or what?

Just want to know if I should go forward with this project. What are the steps needed to be taken. Any suggestions?

I think we need a little better explanation on what you’re thinking.

I’m not sure how selling goods has to do with donations. Who are the donations for? Are you building an app for a business?

@Rob

So I want user to download music via iTunes store, google play, etc. but whats different from downloading it from my app or the app store, whatever they download, money would be stored into their account and when they reach a certain amount, they can donate it to a charity of their choice.

What my questions is, if they download a .99c song, should they end up paying 1.99? 99c to apple and 99c to their account, or something along those lines.I know its kinda weird and they can just go to the itunes store but i want to make it into a community kinda app for a good cause. Also i know app has an affiliation program where i can get a percentage of each download.

Rob will probably know better than me, but I would be very surprised if something like this didn’t violate Apple’s T&Cs, and probably Google’s too.

Also, I don’t know that you can actually buy their music via a 3rd party app, as far as I know you have to purchase the track in iTunes/Google Music.
