Still No Way to Report Spam posts?

http://forums.coronalabs.com/topic/33953-hottest-smartphone-for-2013/

Give us a freaking button, please. The community can help if you let us – but every time you throw a speed bump in the way fewer people will bother.

I even went to the user’s record and there’s a “Report User” button but it says I don’t have permission to do that.

Hi Jay,

This topic just came up yesterday. We’re discussing what permissions/buttons to grant, and whether the “warning points” thing should be scrapped. Any specific opinions on that? There are pros and cons to each side, and this time we’d like to get some feedback before just making changes. Feedback on this is definitely appreciated.

I removed that spam post, by the way.

Brent

I have no details on what the warning points thing was all about, so I don’t have an opinion on that.

At the *very* least give us a “Report this Post” button that alerts someone on the back-end. So spam, or someone spewing filth, etc., can be *easily* reported.

To make it even smarter, after X number of reports the post could be hidden until it’s checked by a sysop. (Do we still call them that? Did I just show my age?) Not sure what number X is, but high enough that JV and MH can’t do a drive-by and hide posts willy-nilly. (Note: Just picked those initials at random. They aren’t meant to represent real people, but an amalgam of jerks and morons and dweebs who can’t seem to move on without talking trash.)

But even without an auto-hide being able to easily report stuff would be a huge win for everyone.

 Jay

Keeping it simple I’d +1 a “Report this post” button.

Yes @J.A.Whye you showed your age.  I think the proper term these days is moderators or mods’.  Or super awesome gang.

SYSOP!  ZMODEM protocol ruled, especially when my parents added call-waiting to the line.

Let’s drop the Internet and go back to BBS!!

You old-timers… now excuse me while I flip on my VIC-20 and play a few rounds of Radar Rat Race and Cosmic Cruncher. :stuck_out_tongue:

Brent

 Hehe, now I think I need to hook up my Sinclair ZX-80 to my flat screen TV…can I please get Corona SDK for it?

WTF? Jay, BtT, no offense to you guys, but Corona very specifically said they removed the ability to add sigs.

What happened here?

I created a GUI interface using Visual Basic to hack into the forum and add my own signature.

LOL.  Actually, I added it when they first set up the forums, and when they removed the link, there was no way for me to change it, so it just stuck there.

That’s my go-to sequence as well.

Can’t believe Corona didn’t disable the whole sig setup…

Yeah, I slipped in under the wire, too. So now if they yank my sig I’m coming after you, richard9!!!

 Jay

PS - Probably joking. Probably.

Can I yank it Jay? I just want to confirm before I actually do…

Brent

Um…no?

 Jay

You said “yes” didn’t you? Oh wait… hmmm, too late. :stuck_out_tongue:

Brent

Jay, I’m a paying customer for both Outlaw and Corona so my immunity in this case is pretty airtight.
