Curious what methods people have thought of to make it easy for their users to update the app.
In my case it may happen that an update is needed or the app isn’t going to keep working or work at its best. For example where there is dependency on an internet accessible resource and that resource has to be replaced or some other unforseen thing happens.
So I am thinking of having some check run when the app starts. Maybe if the app can’t pass certain tests, to provide an update button to the user? Or have a troubleshooting / test screen which the user might find or try if the app isn’t working. Then update would be an option there.
There might also be security reasons why I would like to notify the users that an update is available. Etc.
Curious what strategies are common or work well.
