Getting Started Newbie Questions

Hi there…I’m new here.
My name’s Ricardo and I’m from South Africa.

I’m a graphic/web designer and am keen to get involved in the development of mobile apps…primarily games.
I was told corona was excellent at building 2d games etc…I was hoping you guys could point me in the right direction in terms with the following:

Where do I start if I have no code experience? What do I need to study before being able to use corona etc…
I was told I didn’t need objectiveC with corona…but this is all new to me.

Any advice would be immensely appreciated…

Corona uses a language called Lua.  There are a few books on learning Lua available.  There are also a wealth of tutorials, guides, video tutorials and sample programs you can view/study to get started.

There are videos, tech tutorials and sample code avaiable there.  Also you can just search “Corona Tutorials” on Google and find a slew of third party options there.

I’ve not used any of the books, but I know Michelle had a good reputation and it would be a good book to use.
