Submitting apps to app store after Feb 1

Got an email from Apple just now:

“Starting February 1, new apps and app updates submitted to the App Store must be built with Xcode 5 and iOS 7 SDK”

So, no more Corona-built apps?

No, it just means that you have to have that version of Xcode installed so that it makes an iOS 7-compliant app.  This is about how you have your system configured.  Corona apps do use the locally installed Xcode to build as well.

In order to have that version of Xcode installed, you must have Mavericks installed on your Mac.  Something I have been refraining from doing.  Looks like I will need to now.   :frowning:

OK, I see, thanks.

FWIW I upgraded to Mavericks from 10.7 a month ago and quite like it. If anything it’s faster than 10.7 on my 2009 iMac, the opposite of what I expected. (i did a clean install)

Geez,  looks like I’m stuffed as my mac laptop is running 10.7.5 and wont allow me to upgrade to 10.8 or above.  So cant install XCode 5

@ thegdog, I’m running XCode 5.0.2 and don’t have Mavericks. You might still be able to run XCode 5 on 10.8.

ksan,

Really?  When I tried to install it before, it said I needed to upgrade.  And pretty sure I am running Mountain Lion and have been updating regularly.

Will have to check it out again.  Thanks for letting me know.

Indeed. I got the XCode update while IOS7 was in beta and then I think I updated it one more time. I’m resisting Mavericks for now and all is working well. See my OS and XCode version screenshot attached here. Good luck.
