Subscription question

If I subscribe to use the current release build (704), is it ok to keep using it for 12 months or is it compulsory to always use the latest release build?

If I subscribe is it possible to use a release build earlier than the current one?

I basically need to know before I start if I can support iOS 3.1. [import]uid: 129402 topic_id: 24423 reply_id: 324423[/import]

There is nothing that says you have to upgrade… well at least until Apple forces your hand.

The existing 704 will support older OS’s and it’s perfectly fine to have multiple versions of Corona on your hard drive. I have a CoronaSDK folder in /Appliations as well as a CoronaSDK.stable folder. I keep the latest daily build in CoronaSDK and the last stable… well you get the point.

I’ve seen people building with 591 and even older versions.

But here is the rub. Apple requires OSX Lion or Mountain Lion with Xcode 4.3 or later to build for iOS 5.1. I think Ancsa magically made that happen in 704a which still has older than 4.3 support. But the daily builds no longer support anything older than 4.3. At some point, Apple is going to completely pull the plug on the older OS’s.

There are other things going on like them starting to reject apps that use the UDID (Unique Device ID). Older versions of Corona SDK will expose that UDID and so at some point you will have to upgrade to a newer version if you want to build for Apple, unless Ansca can magically build an 704c, but at some point, its going to be too much effort to support this old stuff.

Thanks. I was just thinking that as the build process contacts the server, Ansca could force you to upgrade Corona. [import]uid: 129402 topic_id: 24423 reply_id: 98780[/import]
