My test is working, using SDK Tester on a first generation Kindle Fire. I did encounter issues with the ordering of function calls (see http://forums.coronalabs.com/topic/37946-app-freezes-on-1st-generation-kindle-fire/ for details), but having resolved that, everything is working for me.
