Suddenly can't build for Android

I’m trying to build for Android(in windows), after selecting all the build options and waiting on the queue I get the following error:

[Build Error #5]

(null)

I hadn’t changed anything that I know of prior to getting the error.  I’ve since updated to the current public build and re-installed the JDK, to no avail.

Anyone have any ideas?

Can you build the hello world sample app?

If so can you try replacing your build.settings with the one from it? (make a copy of yours first)

Do you have any .lua files that you may not be using that has errors in it?

I can’t build the hello world sample either, same error.

same here, tried my app with daily build 1137 and 1154, both returns Build Error #5 (null)

Just now I managed to build Hello World sample once on daily build 1154, but it takes longer time than usual, and now I cant build Hello World again, same error.

UPDATE: After a few hours, I can build now, so I guess its corona side’s server problem.

Brent has asked the Engineers to look into this…

I did some builds today and haven’t seen any problems. Is anyone still getting the build error?

There’s been no change for me, I still get the same error.

No problem for me, everything is back to normal. Using Build version 1154 on windows build for Android.

Maybe now it only affects starter licence or public release build?

Okay ChrisS, this is a localized problem to you.  I was going to deauth you, but a bunch of people came up searching for ChrisS and none matched the email I can see for you in the forums.  Is your Corona registered on a different email address than your forum ID?

Let’s look at common causes.  You will have to try and figure this out.

  1. that error occurs when you have a lua module with a syntax error that you may not be using.

  2. There are errors in your build.settings file.

However, we can, for the moment, rule this out since you can’t build Hello World.

3.  You’re Keystore doesn’t exist or is corrupt.  When you hit the Build for Android option, what are you using for your keystore and alias?  Does that file exist?  Is the password right on it?

4.  You’re not logged into Corona correctly.  For some reasons our server isn’t able to authenticate you.  This is where we would deauth you and have you try it again.  You can deauthorize yourself from your preferences menu.  I would recommend doing this.  Perhaps you had a network hiccup when you first registered and something is amiss.

  1. You are trying to go through a proxy or you have a firewall blocking key ports.  Make sure those are out of the way.

  2. You’re Java SDK isn’t setup right.

Try some of those and let me know if any of them help.

I can’t get it to de-authorize locally, that may well be related to the problem.  My email is …

Okay, I’ve deauthed you.  Lets see if that helps.
