Support for Air View finger hovering?

Samsung Galaxy S4 has an interesting feature called Air View, which lets you hover over the screen (without touching) to trigger certain special things. It would be great to have this available in Corona, especially for polishing (tool tips) or experimental games which utilize hover as never done before (e.g think a sniping game where hovering would cause the rifle to zoom on the target, but not shoot). Or is it already possible perhaps (maybe with native code embedding for Android)?

Hi Philipp,

This is an interesting feature, but it would likely need to be something supported on more than just one (or a few) Samsung handsets before we’d consider supporting it. This could potentially be a future plugin, however.

Sounds good. It’s certainly a niche feature for now, but sometimes device makers are actually looking for apps to showcase such niche features and help pushing them. “The first game specifically made for Air View” might be very interesting to every owner of such device… perhaps even mindchanging and educative!
