TableView in the next builds

Having to cut down my app (and its price) due the lack of TableView, puts it as my number 1 future feature. A few guys are trying to create this library using Lua but, as of today, they are slow, hard to implement and clearly not native. Every app (and most games) requires a list and I would love to see it in the upcomming betas.

Thanks,

I second this. The native TableView is such a vital control for pretty much every game/application and would be a great addition. [import]uid: 6678 topic_id: 1092 reply_id: 2770[/import]

Eric/Carlos,

Any answer here (at least a “no plans for the next years” would be nice)?

This is in the SDK Roadmap… I personally would prefer any native iPhone feature and Bugfix much above any Android feature. May the unclear TOS situation did influence priorities? [import]uid: 6928 topic_id: 1092 reply_id: 3409[/import]

I would rather see them concentrating on the Android part. [import]uid: 5712 topic_id: 1092 reply_id: 3413[/import]

Having native tableViews in Corona would be huge. I hope this is a priority. [import]uid: 3018 topic_id: 1092 reply_id: 3425[/import]

I agree with Mike, I would much rather see them concentrate on Android at this point. Let’s be honest, you have much better odds of launching a highly successful Android game than you do iPhone. Android lacks good games. Seriously, pretty much all but a handful are bad. In the Android market, the games are so bad that even the terrible ones are at the top of the most downloaded. It’s much easier to break in to. And right now, due to some Android issues, you can’t even realistically put a game on the market.

But yeah, back to the tableview, it would be great, for all platforms. [import]uid: 6678 topic_id: 1092 reply_id: 3426[/import]

Best would be to have both of course. I know one single person with an android and he did not even want to test a game… Lol … But at least 50 with an iPhone. They sold 3 million ipads in 80 days and iPhone 4 is all over the place. IOS 4 is what I want to develop for in the future … With or without corona. Corona works well for my current project. But if I use it in the future will depend on stuff like multitasking support and native controls. [import]uid: 6928 topic_id: 1092 reply_id: 3428[/import]

Hi all,

Have any of you tested my TableViewCode in Lua, just take a look on it here: http://www.vlsarg.tk/

It may be a started point.

Good luck!

Hi Flavio,

Yes, I’ve played a little with your TableView code and I think it’s a good start. I have an upcoming project where I need TableView which should be a good test for your code. I’ll let you know how it works.

Thanks for sharing the code.
