Target API level requirements from August 2018?

Hello everyone,

I tried to publish my another app on play store but the roll out option is disabled because of this warning.

Target API level requirements from August 2018 Warning: Your app currently targets API level 25 and must target at least API level 26 to ensure it is built on the latest APIs optimized for security and performance. From August 2018, new apps must target at least Android 8.0 (API level 26). From November 2018, app updates must target Android 8.0 (API level 26).

Now I am not able to publish the new app? I am using new version of Corona.

Corona 2018.3316       2018.06.13

Is anybody facing the same issue?

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Thanks,

This question has come up multiple times. This is a warning. Google will require this starting in August. That’s well over a month and a half away. You can submit to Google today using Corona with no issues. This is just an informational warning.

Our engineering team is prepping support for API level 26 now, it’s just not ready to use.

Rob

Google is only allowing us to publish updates of an old apps but not accepting the new roll outs.

I updated one of my apps and it worked.

But this problem is with the new roll outs.

Thanks,

Look for some triangles in the left-hand side of the developer portal for your app. You likely have something that needs to be completed. Google is not enforcing this for new apps until August.

Rob

Thanks for the reply Rob.

Look I’ve attached the screenshot. Everything is ready to go.

Thank you so much Rob. Yeah I actually missed a point in price and distribution.

I am able to roll out now…

Thanks alot.

Hi, this thread mentions that Google won’t be enforcing API 26 until August (just 2 days from today). Will a daily build this week start supporting API 26, or is this already supported with a current daily build?

Thanks

Any build 3326 or later will contain support or API 27 and can be used for new apps submitted to Google and for updates after they change that requirement.

Rob

Great news. Thanks Rob!
