Test your app on every Android device for free!

This is going to be AWESOME when it goes live! I read an article about this service and figured I should share the link since it will be invaluable for Android developers once it launches. According to the website it’s supposed to launch this month (November).

I wonder how they are doing this for free? Are they running via simulators or actual hardware devices? I wonder what there angle is in offering a free service.

Interesting to see how they accomplish this, as the the Android market is so fragmented. It’s definitely a business addressable niche.

Sounds Great, a really useful thing.

I still have questions regarding it though, so i’m wary:

  • What do they want from me as a developer? (Post below said it alot more accurately than me)

But i’ll keep my eye on it, as this is a very important thing to publish with confidence

From what I’ve read there will be a paid service as well as the free one. A developer will be able to review a video of their app running on a device so they can actually see any visual anomalies and the like. This is just a guess so take it with a few grains of salt but I would think that there will be one queue for paid subscribers and one queue for free subcribers. The paid queue will obviously have priority over use of the hardware and the free queue will probably take a while (probably days or even weeks of waiting depending on how many apps are waiting to be tested). I’m guessing only the paid subcribers get access to videos of their apps running but I’m not sure. [import]uid: 27965 topic_id: 17305 reply_id: 65462[/import]
