My project are heavily used this api. Sometimes it will freezing the system, and I must force restart. I’m not sure that it’s my macbook’s problem or api’s bug.
Can you share some code or a small demo project that causes the problem? There isn’t anything in this post I can share with an engineer to even start looking at the problem.
Rob
Sorry! Here is the demo.
I just draw a circle into a textureCanvas as the api document showed. But it did not appear properly.
What are you seeing? I’m seeing the circle stretched to an oval.
Rob
I saw nothing. But in my mac mini, I saw the same circle as you. I am wondering that it’s my macbook’s problem or corona api’s problem.
If you have the same type machine(macbook pro 2017 13 inch), can you have a test?
Sounds like you’ve got a problem w/ your machine, but you haven’t told us enough.
- What exact version of Corona are you using?
- What version of OS X are you running?
- When you say MBP you mean the one with these specs?
- 2.3GHz dual-core 7th-generation Intel Core i5 processor
- Intel Iris Plus Graphics 640
- When you run the test project you attached it doesn’t work?
- If so, describe what you see or don’t see, i.e. step-by-step, what happens when you run this on your machine?
- Can you attach a screenshot of what you see in the simulator?
- Are you getting any error messages in the console?
Here is what I got.
Ah, I see you’re running high sierra.
I’m wondering if Corona is fully tested with High Sierra yet.
I"m running high sierra and I get an oval on the display. It might be a device + OS specific issue since I have an older mid 2012 MacBook Pro 13".
I’ll ask and see if anyone on our team has this exact hardware. Really odd problem.
Rob
Thanks for helping!
It might not be a os specific problem. Because when I bought this machine, it was installed sierra(10.12.6).
Having the same problem, note that I have a bunch of Macs here at work, and tried many combinations. The only broken combination so far is any new Corona version on High Sierra on a Mac Book Pro 2017 model, using a High Sierra on a Mac Air or older Mac Book Pro, has no issues. The OS totally crashes sometimes, screen becomes gibberish and then the machine resets. Like I say at work I have access to 3 Mac Book Pro 2017 model machines, and the same thing happens on all 3 machines, so it is not a random machine issue, but most likely an issue with the video board or something used for Mac Book Pro 2017 and Corona’s OpenGL implementation. Again there is no issue on other models of Macs, and unfortunately I don’t have a non-High Sierra Mac book pro, but before I updated to High Sierra to replicate anymore, older versions of Corona were working fine on the same Mac Book Pro 2017.
If Ansca engineers can get their hand on a Mac Book Pro 2017, I’m quite sure the issue will replicate, however like mentioned, the OS will crash, but I have no idea about error logs…
