The Corona communities communication in general. Opinions?

Since it’s hard to communicate without PMs I think for indie devs troubleshooting code makes things harder without relying on other forms of communication(email, skype, etc).

What do other subscribers think of this subject? Pro or Indie. [import]uid: 128294 topic_id: 30644 reply_id: 330644[/import]

I’m not really sure what you’re getting at. A Corona Pro vs. Indie subscription has nothing to do with how trouble shooting code works through forums, private messages, email etc.

Damn, I can’t give my two cents, you asked to subscribers :frowning: [import]uid: 116842 topic_id: 30644 reply_id: 122886[/import]

@robmiracle

It’s about what are corona users opinions on reaching other developers in general. Would like to know who feels this way, whether or not effective or overall feeling like a ghost town. Just wondering. [import]uid: 128294 topic_id: 30644 reply_id: 122866[/import]

@correogracioso you’re still included…

@LakeviewHotel, to be honest, these forums work quite well. We can post code, get feed back on it. If problems become to compact, we can use email or Dropbox to share projects when we need to look at the assets. The biggest problem here is volume and it’s easy for the people with the answers to not necessarily see every post.

Beyond that, there are local meetup groups in some areas. I’ve worked with several people directly through e-mail. I frequently get asked to use Skype, but I don’t like to video chat (for instance I’m sitting in the family room with my wife and she’s watching TV. I can’t exactly fire up a video chat and be fair to her. But that aside, Skype seems quite popular.

There is an IRC channel for Corona SDK. I’ve gone on there a couple of times and never found anyone around, but I’ve read where people have gotten good stuff from the IRC channel.

There is an independent Facebook group that was formed to help people review each other’s apps, but with the smaller intimacy of the group it’s somewhat easier to communicate within that smaller group.

Just to be clear, you know that Pros don’t have PMs, right? Indie and Pro are the exact same on the forum beyond the wording/color of their badge. [import]uid: 52491 topic_id: 30644 reply_id: 123088[/import]

True, though Indie limits a user to either iOS or Android publishing while Pro has both plus Nook&Kindle fire. : / [import]uid: 128294 topic_id: 30644 reply_id: 123091[/import]

Yes, that’s why we have two tiers - if you are an Indie this way you don’t have to buy a Pro license to build for just your desired platform.

I was confused about your initial post and how PMs/support tied into Indie/Pro stuff - everyone gets the same level of support from us and from the community :slight_smile: [import]uid: 52491 topic_id: 30644 reply_id: 123333[/import]
