The Lost Chapter - A point and click murder mystery game [Released]

Hello everyone,

I’m happy to announce that we’ve released our first mobile game created with Corona SDK. It was a long journey but we finally made it and we hope that we’ve created an enjoyable experience.

This is the game’s description:

“The Lost Chapter” is a mystery adventure game where you step into the shoes of a private detective hired to solve a murder case.

A video game programmer has been murdered and bizarre clues were left at the crime scene. Among the mysterious clues is a classic video game. Is it related?

Unfortunately this is just the first of many murders. As the body count rises, it is clear that the murderer is no fool. He is cold, calculating and he obviously has a dark motive.

Two stories will start to unfold. The main story and the classic videogame’s story. Your task is to find the connection and discover the murderer’s identity before it’s too late.

Features:

• Inspired by classic mystery adventure games
• Classic point and click mechanic
• Suspenseful and unique story-line
• Realistic characters, dialogues and scenarios
• Memorable scenes
• Play a retro-styled video game searching for clues
• Fun and challenging puzzles
• Available for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad

If you enjoy playing mystery adventure games, this game is for you.

Do you have what it takes to step into the mind of a deranged serial killer and solve the case?

The game is available from the following stores:

Thank you!

Hey George,

I picked this up on Amazon, and my first impressions were:  a lot of hard work and polish went into this gem, and wow, 300+  megs!

I’ve only just started, but the in-app phone reminded me of playing heavy rain   . Playing games within the game itself definitely broadens the experience.

A couple things:  On the title screen, I could see a strange square of graphic artifacts that appeared to repeat a pattern like an animated gif.  I didn’t see anything like that during gameplay.

The first main ‘scene’ that you come to is very dark on my device,  to the point of being hard to see .  Is there an option for brightness somewhere?

Tested on one of the first gen kindle fires.

Hey r.delia, thanks for the kind words!

We will certainly look into those two issues that you’ve mentioned. Thank you very much for reporting them.

There’s no brightness option in the game, but I would think your device should have a way to regulate that. Nonetheless, we will look into that ourselves and if necessary, make changes to the scene.

Thanks again!

George

It looks like all of the non-rpg game art is a bit dark, even for my lap top in a dim room (your best case scenario). You may wanna make a pass on all if it. Not crazy dark mind you, but enough that outside on my phone and It will become a chore to play.

Hi gullie667,

Thanks for the feedback. Can you tell me what device you’re using? I find that when I have my phone on “Auto” brightness, the game looks very dim, but if I set the brightness manually to the highest setting the game looks right. Do you know what you have set for brightness?

Thanks,

George

Beautiful presentation; your video is particularly impressive - it made me want to buy the game even though it doesn’t show any gameplay at all - great job

I second what _memo said. Really good execution on the video.

My device is set to auto brightness, which is what most will have.

Thanks memo and gullie667! I really appreciate your feedback.

We’ll look into the overall brightness of the game.

Congrats! Looks really nice! Downloading now and will give it a play later tonight.

Good luck with sales!

Thanks a lot, Glitch Games!
