Three Crossinstall questions

My first two are in its implementation. I can’t seem to get the ads to be properly displayed, I want them to be right up at the top and take the whole width of the device but they always seem stretched or going out of the screen. I could figure it out with trial and error but the problem is I only have one device to test with so there’s no way for me to know if it’s working on all devices (since the simulator wont display them). Anyone have tips on how to do that properly?

The second question is about getting the ad to change…it seems “interval” doesn’t work with crossinstall. Is there another way? Or am I just doing it wrong?

Final question is about crossinstall’s reliability. There’s so little information about crossinstall…has anyone actually used it? There’s a total of four threads on the forum and only one of them has a response. I haven’t found a location to plug in my bank or paypal account yet either…maybe that will come up when I actually get some revenue coming in? (This is my first app with monetization.)

Any tips at all would help actually…it’s really strange how there’s pretty much no information about this anywhere.

Oh…suppose four questions - last one: considering this is my first try at monetization and there’s so little information about crossinstall should I actually use it? If not which one should I use (that a starter can use…which apparently excludes admob currently).

Hi @kbdecker,

Have you read through the CrossInstall documentation yet?

http://www.crossinstall.com/docs/corona

http://docs.coronalabs.com/plugin/crossinstall/index.html

AdMob is available to Starter tier. Have you tried implementing it?

Take care,

Brent

I did read the crossinstall documentation but it’s rather sparse, a little vague and doesn’t address my questions (well, it talks about about “supported dimensions” in a sentence but I was hoping I could resize the ad to the screen instead of keeping at those specific “supported dimensions”).

I actually tried AdMob first but it wasn’t working so I went to the forums to fix my problems and after a day of fiddling I read that if you’re new to admob you don’t have access to the original version and corona only allows v2 for pro tier until the next update, was that wrong? I suppose I could have just implemented it incorrectly. But the original version is being phased out in a month anyway, right? So unless the new update for v2 is going to happen within that time it’s not of use to me anyway.

Now that the new build is out I’ll be switching back to AdMob. There’s more documentation, more community help and a more intuitive website with AdMob than there is with CrossInstall.
