Hey everyone,
I wanted to write something quick to introduce myself, say thank you, and mention my first game!
About me: I’m a junior software developer from Ohio, US with no prior experience with games. I learned about Corona about a year ago now and liked how easy it was to pick up and build stuff. So I decided to give it a shot and see what I could come up with.
Thank you: Throughout building my first game of course I ran across issues and stumbled with various things I had no clue how to do. This forum (all of you) were invaluable while I built it. So thank you very much to all you who (1) post questions and also (2) those of you willing to lend a hand. Thanks!!!
My first game: I wanted to build something fairly simple to get my feet wet. I ended up making a memory-like game where you’re presented with a symbol/pattern for a second which you then need to match by touching the anchors/points on the screen.
A bit more about the game: As a developer, I think the coolest thing I did with the game is the generation of symbols. There is no preset pattern for any one symbol. I made an algorithm that generates them on the fly, based on the number of anchors on screen and the current difficulty setting.
Please check out the game and post back with any and all feedback. Even if you don’t install it, I’d take feedback on how it looks (if you look at the pictures). Thank you all again!!
