Through the Hoop - A Basketball Trick Shot Game (Teaser)

Through the Hoop is a basketball trick shot game, unlike anything else on the market. It will be available for iOS and Android soonish.

I made a promotional teaser video (for the first time ever) for the game and would like get some feedback on it. Eventually the purpose of the video is to promote the game to some app review sites, and I’d like to make it as professional and appealing as I possibly can.

Do you get the game idea?

Is there something unnecessary?

Is something essential missing?

Any other feedback?

Huge thanks in advance!

Here’s the teaser:

nice video and game

Thanks!

Hey pretty impressive. Good work with the chain on the hoop. I noticed you get a bounce bonus maybe it would make more sense to get less points per bounce to encourage you to get it in with as few as possible aka “nothing but net!”

Also to take this game to the next level I would recommend getting a graphic overhaul. Get an artist with a decent style that fits with a basketball theme.

Still looks good and look forward to trying it out!

Very, very nice. Are you thinking of a CPI campaign to get some initial traction? I think if you get that in the top 25 in sports it could really snowball.

I’ll wire 10k into your account tomorrow if you’re willing to sell it.

Thanks! The reason for giving the bounce bonus is that IMO a trick shot is more “difficult” if you bounce the ball of different objects and still make the goal. You anyway get “Clean Shot Bonus” if the ball doesn’t touch the backboard or the rim

I agree that the graphics would benefit from some more polishing, but I’ll probably do a graphics update some time after the initial release, if the game gets any success. I’m kind of short on budget and like’d to “fail fast”.

Thanks! That’s definitely an option. I haven’t really thought about the marking aspect much (other than sending an email to some review sites and adding FB & Twitter sharing in-game). I don’t have any idea what would it cost to run a campaign like that (so that it would have an effect on the top lists). Do you?

Hehe, thanks for the offer but I’m gonna have to pass. I’ve been developing the game for over 7 months on the evenings and weekends and starting to feel like it’s my own flesh and blood
