I am working on a platformer type of game with just one level which is very big.
at first i decided i wanted an A4 piece of paper size level. I did just that and put it into game salad with a character and camera following him. but even still the level was too small for me. So i thought i would double it up in size.
so now i have a background image of 4800x3400 pixels. this is a massive background and i not sure if corona can handle a background image that size.
Also i needed to tile this image up into 32x32 tiles.
im using tilemage for windows and works well but with the image i could only tile it up into 34x33 or something like that not an exact 32x32 which is what i wanted so any ideas on what is the ideal size to cut up an image into 32x32.
also when i tiled it up there is 15000 tiles so is corona going to be able to handle that.
i would really like to know if tiles is better for performance for a platformer game if so thats ok i just not sure whats the max size image corona can take and how to get a very large background image into 32x32 squares. thanks [import]uid: 14290 topic_id: 10354 reply_id: 310354[/import]
