Translating Apps - Is it really worth it?

**Currently, most of my apps are only available in English. I have translated my apps to the only other language I know, French and have determined that the extra downloads compared to a non-translated app are few.

However, I found this suggesting that Japanese translation may be shrewd.**

**Please answer as many as you can:
So, have you found success with translations, like an increase in sales or downloads?
Also, do you recommend translating the entire app or just the iTunes Connect and/or Google Play data? Finally, if any, what countries have you found the most success with?

Thank you! [import]uid: 59735 topic_id: 29182 reply_id: 329182[/import]**

As a side question, is it better to put up a separate app for each language or put the language option in the app’s user settings? [import]uid: 160496 topic_id: 29182 reply_id: 117536[/import]

I think for marketing purposes it helps if there are separate apps? no? i could be wrong.
But it would seem more appealing to know the app already comes in your language…

Or you could be creative and make sure that the description explicitly states that its available in other languages… *phrase written in the other languages*

…and just to take it a step further, a language selector pop-up upon install?

As a whole, however, concerning multiple languages, anything on the internet is essentially available to a global market so to the question asked “is it worth it to translate apps?” i have to answer with a resounding yes…
If you want the app to gain a massive presence, always translate… unless it’s geo-specific

-just my opinion… open to correction from others tho [import]uid: 174977 topic_id: 29182 reply_id: 122045[/import]
