Transparent background for native text input

Does anyone know how I can make the background for the native text input (native.newTextField) transparent?

I have created a background image with a box around for the input area but the text field generated by Corona is showing a retangular box with shadow.

Thanks a lot! [import]uid: 26410 topic_id: 13962 reply_id: 313962[/import]

Hi,

I know that it is now possible to remove the background from the textField with ( defaultField.hasBackground = false )

But is there a way to remove the shadowed border from the textField ?

Hey Jel

You’re correct; I should have updated this thread. (Oops.)

Looking at the docs it appears we don’t currently have a way to hide the border - I don’t know how easy that is with native display objects (Eric would be the expert on that!) - but perhaps a post in feature request is a good idea?
