Try to open for build

The response from the software is that Iphone SDK is not installed, or components are not installed, please install ISD. This is while I have the newest Iphone SDK from Apple development installed on my mac.

Is this normal? How do I enter the editor? Is it even possible to make apps with this release? [import]uid: 3870 topic_id: 215 reply_id: 300215[/import]

Just a few corrections, I meant SDK, not ISD, and also, this happens when I try opening a sample code for build. [import]uid: 3870 topic_id: 215 reply_id: 259[/import]

Have you obtained your provisioning profiles from apple as well as your developer certificate? If you don’t have any provisioning profiles, you can’t create device builds, but you should still be able to use the simulator. Do you have an error message you can take a screen shot of and send me? info@anscamobile.com [import]uid: 5 topic_id: 215 reply_id: 261[/import]

No that is true, I have not applied for a developer certificate (if that means paying 99$ to apple). So yes I can run the simulator. I have a quick question regarding future releases of Corona, will it be designer friendly? Can non programmers use it like actionscript 2.0 and Flash to make apps? Or must one simply sit infront of a basic code editor and simulator.

I sent a screen cap never the less. [import]uid: 3870 topic_id: 215 reply_id: 262[/import]

In regards to your current situation, try the terminal version of the simulator and let me know what version you see there. The standalone app’s about version will read 0.3 but the terminal version should read 0.5. In order to build the applications, you have to have a developer certificate. Unfortunately this is an Apple requirement in order to put applications on the iPhone.

If you’ve already installed the Corona SDK, take a look at the sample code and open it with a text editor like BBEdit and you’ll get a good idea of how easy it is to write. We also provide documentation to help you. [import]uid: 5 topic_id: 215 reply_id: 263[/import]

Ok, it looks like that error WILL occur if you don’t have the iPhone SDK installed/properly. It must be in the Developer folder on your hard drive as well. [import]uid: 5 topic_id: 215 reply_id: 264[/import]

The terminal version reads 0.5. When you mean developer folder, can you write the full directory?

Yes it is easy, but will it be designer friendly? I am currently wondering wether to wait for Corona or to buy the CS5 Flash Pro when it comes out. [import]uid: 3870 topic_id: 215 reply_id: 265[/import]

/Developer is the full directory path on your main drive.

One of our main supporters is BambouDesign (http://www.bamboudesign.com/). They are designers and have been using our software for a while now. It is a programming language, but if you take a look at some of the sample code, it reads very easily by comparison to Objective-C. If you have any experience writing for Flash, actionscript, or java, this is a cake walk. [import]uid: 5 topic_id: 215 reply_id: 266[/import]

When you go to install the iPhone SDK, its the default path FYI. [import]uid: 5 topic_id: 215 reply_id: 267[/import]

Will there be a designer interface editor, like the type of Adobe flash, where you can, for example, work with frames etc? That would really set Corona up there to compete with CS5 [import]uid: 3870 topic_id: 215 reply_id: 273[/import]

Hmmm, I have xcode 3.2.1 installed in the default location, but I still get the error message stated above. [import]uid: 58 topic_id: 215 reply_id: 738[/import]
