Twitter without WebPopup

In the sample code provided with the Corona SDK, they create a custom Login with name and password for twitter. Upon login, a message is tweeted to the user’s account. It would appear however that this method no longer works. The new method seems much more involved and uses the WebPopup to log the user in. Is there a way around this? When I open the popup, the user has to know to scroll down to find the login area and go from there. I would love to do something similar to the custom demo approach.

Anyone have any success?

I’m hoping that at some point we will get native twitter API’s since its now built into iOS 5.0. Of course this won’t help 4.x and older and I’m not sure how it would help Android…

The new FB SSO is so awesome I hope we get the same thing with Twitter.
