What’s the warp capability? Warp 6?

It’s the new “Secret Feature”. We will just have to wait and see what the gang has up their sleeve.
The good news is that we must be nearing a new “Stable” Drop.

Everyone - we will soon have more info about “Corona Enterprise” on our website. It is currently in alpha and is being tested by a handful of customers. To be clear, this product is meant for larger studios, not Indies.
BUT, we will also have a derivation of that product that will benefit all our Indie customers a little further down the line.
More info coming soon! [import]uid: 10668 topic_id: 24623 reply_id: 100136[/import]

For the “a little further down the line”, I hope you’re going to allow indies to use custom, 3rd party libraries, as I wrote here http://developer.anscamobile.com/forum/2012/04/10/what-enterprise-stuff#comment-99963
Something like that would be wonderful… [import]uid: 9158 topic_id: 24623 reply_id: 100201[/import]
I went and watched Walter’s video again, and he gives a lot of details of what Enterprise will be.
So, what does this mean?
My take.
It also means that we are going to be paying more for something that their competition has already added at half the current Pro developer cost. While they are not up to the standard of Corona SDK right now, they are catching up.
I’m really hoping that Ansca doesn’t leave the rest of the current development behind to focus on this new toy, as we are still waiting on many items that they have been promising for a long time. [import]uid: 7710 topic_id: 24623 reply_id: 100351[/import]
jeremymarx - You are right with some of the things you mention in your post (native extensions, initially meant for larger customers), but not with others (Enterprise is going to be the new focus).
Our main focus is, and will continue to be, building the best SDK for developing mobile apps. And the vast majority, if not all, of the new things we build will make it into the products available to Indies as soon as possible. Like any startup, we need to prioritize certain things over others, but we are doing our best to fulfill all requests. The great thing is that we have larger customers clamoring for access to Corona with certain functionality. We are going to deliver that, while we keep on improving the core SDK, and then make things available to our Indie base as well. [import]uid: 10668 topic_id: 24623 reply_id: 100378[/import]
Sorry all, but there are many things happening at so short time that my mind is going crazy with it all. Carlos leaving, Corona CEO/Team being improved (renewed), now this subject about a new kind of Corona license (meaning that the Pro isn`t going to be the “Top” license anymore, instead this Enterprise Version)…
WOW…for me its so much changes to hear at so short time! And honestly, I know that any company is looking forward getting "bigger" and to get there they need "big" clients/customers or thousands of indie devs (what is not easy with so many other SDKs out there), so what would be easiest and more profitable and even less "problematic" way to go: 5 BIG Studios/Agencies or 500 indie devs? Certainly everyone here knows the answer and SO US indies developers surely are going to not be the High-Focus (as it is now - the top license which means all CoronaSDK features available) anymore because were not “big” clients wishing to pay more than its cost already, even being able to "code" wide taking some Obj-C, etc snippets. :\ Anyway am going to see these and other "news" that may come out soon and pray for Corona keep itself as am used to and not being take by "bad" surprise anymore because I would not like to have to move out from here btw. I LOVE CORONA\_SDK and so its the reason am concerned a lot about all.
Thanks,
Rodrigo. [import]uid: 89165 topic_id: 24623 reply_id: 101416[/import]
Rodrigo,
I know you are concerned, my friend - change is unsettling and Carlos taking a step back is certainly a big change for everyone. (The team and the community both.)
That said, although it is normal to be uneasy at times like this you must remember that this is not about choosing between Indie developers and “big studios” - we can support everyone and continue to grow, which is good for all of us.
I know this is a stressful time but I assure you the team will look out for your best interests as an Indie developer.
And hey, you get really worried about anything that is going on you have my email, you can always write to me, OK?

-1st: YOU`RE AN ANGEL, MORE THAN FRIEND and also HIGHLY PROFESIONAL IMHO!
-2nd: Without exactly YOU and Mr. Carlos Icaza, surely I would not be by here (you “guided” myself by hand to Corona you know that).
-3rd: As I`ve written for Mr. Carlos & also Mr. David (Ansca-COO), I LOVE CORONA SDK MUCH! So I do not want and also would not imagine the Ansca TEAM (after all these discussed changes into) becoming something “different” than what am used to. PRINCIPALLY about the RESPECT, TRANSPARENCY and CARE about their developers - US (almost all indies by now).
PS1: Even knowing that any company need “money” to survive and grow, the CoronaSDK Team is MUCH MORE THAN it IMHO and is this “feeling” that make me wonder only.
PS2: What I think I`ll miss is what some other Devs have said already, that is: be able to see even by here (the forums) the “face” of one CEO of the Company - Ansca. I think it is something very uncommon BUT very much welcome!
Just my personal thoughts.
Thanks for giving attention.
Regards,
Rodrigo.
