"Unable to Download Application" frustration...!

Hey folks,

I am regularly having an issue when I attempt to download my Corona application to my device.

About 50% of the time, I get this issue, and it is EXTREMELY frustrating!

I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar issue, or if anyone can offer any advice.

I am using the free Diawi service (www.diawi.com) to install my device-built app onto my device.

The service is extremely straightforward, and I don’t suspect the service itself to be the issue.

This is the issue:
When attempting to download my app, my device starts the process of downloading/installing the app, and after a few seconds, display an alert stating (“Unable to Download Application - “YourApp” could not be installed at this time.”)

Sometimes, I am able to get around the issue by deleting the part-installed app from the device, rebooting the device, and then trying the install again.

But sometimes not. Grrrrr…

It is extremely frustrating, and I seem to lose half of my otherwise-productive time building, rebuilding, deleting, rebooting, rebuilding, etc. etc.

It would not be so bad if the device gave me some clue as to WHY it is “unable to download application”.

Are there any logs on the device that are accessible that might give any clues?

ANY help would be VERY gratefully received!

P.S. I do not have a Mac, so I use the MacInCloud service to build the app for the iOS device, so I am unable to connect my device directly to a Mac. [import]uid: 60457 topic_id: 30226 reply_id: 330226[/import]

I have tried using TestFlightApp.com too, and I get exactly the same result.
Is there anyway to get more information from the device as to why the install is failing??

I haven’t encountered this issue before; it might be worth contracting “diawi” as my guess it is may be an issue there. (I haven’t heard of macincloud having issues in this department).

Is your device jailbroken? [import]uid: 52491 topic_id: 30226 reply_id: 121122[/import]

Hi Peach,

I have tried the TestFlight as well as Diawi and I get the same result, so it doesn’t appear to be that that’s the issue.

And no, the device isn’t jail broken. Does that make a difference? [import]uid: 60457 topic_id: 30226 reply_id: 121125[/import]

The app runs fine in the Xcode simulator, but just refuses to install on the device. [import]uid: 60457 topic_id: 30226 reply_id: 121126[/import]

Some jail broken devices have odd behaviors so I always ask, just in case.

If it runs fine in the Xcode simulator that would likely be because your dev certificate is fine, which is the only thing needed to run there, but that your actual provisioning may have an issue. Possibly a device ID mismatch? [import]uid: 52491 topic_id: 30226 reply_id: 121438[/import]
