Hello,
I have a project that requires heavy use of Simplified Chinese in the UI. I just pasted a bunch of Simplified Chinese characters into the Hello World sample and the characters rendered fine. But …
* How does Corona handle fonts? Doe it support all the Simplified Chinese glyphs that the iPhone does?
* Can we specify fonts? The Text Object only allows position, size and RGBA. (What is the unit for size BTW, the docs don’t mention this.)
* I noticed that my long string just rendered straight off the righ side of the screen. I can insert \n to add line breaks, but that’s not going to work very well for long paragraphs of text. I would much rather a multiline text field like Flash since I don’t have to measure the pixel width of a proportional font and then add line breaks in my code (I would much rather that a high level rendering engine like Corona did it, than having to do all this additional work in Lua just to see a proper word wrapped paragraph.) I’m talking about left-to-right rendering, rather than any tricky right-to-left stuff here.
Looking forward to your responses!
Thank you,
