Unit Ads - Multiple Crashes and ARN - Input Dispatching (various) and illegal State

Hello Unity,

We are seeing a huge spike in CRASH/ARNS on GooglePlay that seem to be resulting from our use of Unit Ads  (Input Dispatching (various) and illegal State).  This is pushing our ANR/Crash rates up to 3-4% which is significantly harming our store standing.  This has a significant financial hit on us.

Background: We updated our all our apps last month (if that helps you figure out version we’re running). These (Unit Ads).zip PDFs from Dropbox link below are the detailed errors that appear and are caused in some part by Unit Adsor perhaps how we use it. We don’t know. Again this is for only a sampling of 4 of our games, and we have 14 in with similar issues.

I’m seeing this with vungle ads too so I suspect it is something more serious…

We’ve seen your post on this and wounder the same about Vungle. Our problem is we changed many providers at once (including going form Vungle 4 to 5), use new Corona builds on multiple platforms (MAC, windows). 

Have you tried removing Vungle and seeing if that fixes everything for you? I mean, how could you otherwise know for sure Vungle is root caurs? Do you have errors to show? I could just be Corona build or something else that’s doing it, no?

Don’t get me wrong here, just trying to nail root cause for us too on all fronts. Posting on other threads similar grouping of errors.

So I see… I would say if all ad plugins are failing then it does point to something maybe in Corona being the cause.

Btw, Vungle have blamed Corona for a race condition which is causing my crashes and a new SDK will be released end of April.  Yeah that’s great, thanks for the fast turnaround.  Hey, at least they have admitted the error, now if they could only take ownership and fix it!

Oh, that does seem pretty clear / god point. We’ll follow your post for sure

Sadly I don’t know how people are keeping under the threshold. Even with minimal plugin and games that have no Lua errors, I have a bunch of errors that push me over.

A bug submission at https://portal.coronalabs.com/bug-submission with a sample to reproduce can seriously speed up the process.

Will post here any updates.

All issues were fixed in the latest update. Make sure to use Corona Simulator version >= 3183 to get it.

If you have any more issues or concerns - feel free to share them!
