Upgrade ETA?

I’m encountering several problems with v1.9. Here’s the short list:

  1. Hangs when I try to close the program

  2. When I want to run an app in the simulator I get an error that the program is not loaded

  3. Not using code completion because it is too distracting, shows too many elements at once.

Please let me know when you will be coming out with an upgrade.

Hello Staytooned,

Please try the 1.9.1 update that was released earlier today. You can get it under Help-> check for updates.

I tried that, but it is only installing updated plugins not the 1.9.1 upgrade. I am still experiencing the same problem and this is becoming very frustrating and counter-productive.

Please help!

Hello staytooned,

Glider consists of a collection of Modules (aka plugins,) upgrading these will upgrade it to 1.9.1. You can see what version you have by going to window->whats new.

  1. Hangs when I try to close the program

Please try turning on RAM storage. please see the screenshot:

  1. When I want to run an app in the simulator I get an error that the program is not loaded

What does the message say exactly? Are you trying it in run mode or debug mode or are you building for release? We are not aware of any message or dialog that says “Program is not loaded.”

  1. Not using code completion because it is too distracting, shows too many elements at once.

Is it showing the correct elements? If you invoke autocomplete on whitespace then it will show you all globals and locals in the current scope which will give you a large list. Also if you invoke autocomplete on something like a display object it will give you lots of suggestions. You can filter the list by typing more.

If I try run the app in the simulator from the Glider program, I’m able to do this once and then the second time I get this error message:

Cannot Relaunch Simulator

"No Project is loaded that can be relaunched."

Hello Staytooned,

Thank you for the details. We will have a fix for this soon. If you want to re-run your application there is no need to close the simulator manually, you just need to ctrl-tab back to glider and hit debug. If you are on a mac then Glider will attempt to relaunch the project instead of closing and restarting the simulator. This will preserve the app skin and the simulator location on the screen.

  1. Hangs when I try to close the program

Is this fixed by the proposed solution?

  1. Not using code completion because it is too distracting, shows too many elements at once.

any further comments on this issue?
