USE THIS THREAD: Is the Build Server Down?

Android build was working yesterday, but not at all today :(. Sympathy for the Corona peeps must be pulling each other’s hair out by now.

Build server’s down again:

And we are trying to find the problem.

Rob

So far, apparently, the server is not responding and it is not possible to compile an apk. Please urgent solution!

We’ve practically not been able to build for over a week now. Would it help at all if some users could come together and contribute for new hardware if that helps the current situation and provides a more reliable option going forward? Many of us here have businesses that rely on Corona Products and this situation is obviously very undesirable and I’m sure we could help if your team would accept it.

Failed to build on Android. Error code 256. Hope it will be fixed soon.

Finally, I just did build for iOS.

waited a long time!

iOS build successful!

It was really fast too (extremely fast)!

Although it was just a small project for a customer.

Android build successful too !

Hello everyone,

Here in France, it is still impossible to make a successfull build. This has been happening almost every day for the past week from early morning (around 8:00 am - utc+1). I was able to make a build last night, but I couldn’t do it this morning.

@Rob Miracle or anyone at CoronaLabs : I am sure you’re doing your best but the lack of information is truly astonishing, even disturbing. Unless I am mistaken, your last message on Twitter was posted on January 15, your last post on the CoronaLabs forums was on January 17th…
What is going on at CoronaLabs? Should we worry?

Thank you in advance for maintaining a link with your users. I’m not talking about information, I’m talking about a link.

Have a good day,

Emmanuel

They are working on fixing the servers.

As mentioned in previous post everybody can check the status here:

http://status.coronalabs.com/

The last days only a few hours a day, we can have successful builds.

Personally if I see a positive post I try myself too.

That’s the main reason I’m following this topic :stuck_out_tongue:

Emmanuel, not hearing any news from Corona stuff is completely normal.

It doesn’t mean anything bad and you don’t have to worry

Let’s not make it another doomsday topic :stuck_out_tongue:

Hello Aarbron,

I am aware of the status page but it only shows what we already know. And I really didn’t want to make a doomsday topic, that was not my point. English is not my native language, so perhaps, the tone of my text seemed disturbing to you because of that ? If yes, sorry about that…

Anyway, I disagree with you when you say “Not hearing any news from Corona stuff is completely normal. It doesn’t mean anything bad and you don’t have to worry” According to me, with Corona, there’s a lot to be excited about. But there’s also reason to be concerned…

Anyway, since there doesn’t seem to be anything else to do, let’s wait and see…

Wish you a very good day!

There are companies that overshare and there are companies that don’t share enough. I would say that Corona falls under the latter category, but as Aarbron said, this is normal for them and isn’t a cause for concern.

Build on iOS was successful around 8 hours ago.

I can’t build since the past ~2 hours. Hope it will be up soon.

Since we have all the information we need (they know about the problem, working on it, they are not good at sharing etc etc) I have an idea.

While waiting for Rob to inform us in this topic, we could post only when we have successful builds.

That way we would let each other know when it’s a good time to try!

Until it’s fixed and we go back to normal.

Good idea Aarbron, I’ll do that…

Just managed an Android build, been trying all day and finally worked.

Repeating myself doesn’t seem like a good use of time.

There is no status change. We have still not found the problem. We continue to try and find the cause. About the only thing that is more useful information is that it does seem to be tied to the time of day (and yes, we’ve gone through all the periodic jobs). The problem usually starts around 08:00 GMT and clears up 7-10 hours later or 15:00 GMT to 18:00 GMT. It seems to be a weekday problem too.

If you try outside of those hours, you should find success. If you try during those hours, it’s likely going to be problematic.

Rob

Sorry, Rob you’re gonna get this straight from the hip.  It’s almost 2 weeks and you can’t find the problem?

That’s BS, you know the problem… just change your servers.

Being cynical, Marketplace and monetize have zero downtime!

You realise this is public and indexed by Google right?

Monetize was the old Corona Ads service. I’m not sure why that server is still running. We haven’t had CoronaAds in years.

As we’ve stated, Marketplace doesn’t directly tie in to developer.coronalabs.com. Its database, website and APIs are completely detached until you have to login and most people are logged in with long-lasting cookies so it rarely has to touch developer.coronalabs.com.

There is no evidence that the hardware or operating system is the issue, so moving to a different server probably isn’t going to do much other than move the problem.  And no, we don’t know what’s causing the problem. It is not in our best interest to have this outage. We are very frustrated with this.
