Hey guys,
I’m new to corona community by the way so big thanks to everyone in advance.
I was wondering if there would be a way to get my hand drawn art into my game as the graphics, or any idea of converting hand drawn to compatible graphics somehow? Thanks. [import]uid: 118067 topic_id: 22572 reply_id: 322572[/import]
Um one way is to use Illustrator or photoshop and outline the art with the pen tool and then fill in the spots with color. If you don’t have photoshop or illustrator, I’d gladly like to help you. [import]uid: 122076 topic_id: 22572 reply_id: 89959[/import]
I’m not sure if you’re asking how to get pencil and paper drawings onto your computer so you can use them in Corona, or if you don’t know how to get your digital artwork into Corona.
In the first instance, you need to scan your pictures and open them in an image editing program. Gimp shop is free but photoshop and fireworks are probably the best known. You can colour/edit/crop your images as you see fit, create sprite sheets and so on. You need to save your pictures as png files, (most programs will preserve transparency if using png files too). You can then create an object in Corona and tell it to display your saved, cropped, re-coloured image in the simulator.
If you already know how to do all of the above then you need to use png files.
Hope that helps? If you have any questions, just ask.

You would want to use a scanner. It should output a JPEG or PNG file that you could then use. Many printers have scanners built into them or you can find a flat-bed scanner for next to nothing these days. [import]uid: 19626 topic_id: 22572 reply_id: 89967[/import]
You can also take a photo with your device and upload it to the PC

Thanks for all the replies guys! [import]uid: 118067 topic_id: 22572 reply_id: 90495[/import]
just wanted to say that Inkscape has an ok working tracer, so you can get vector outlines once you have your stuff in the computer, I used that recently and it really works (well, depending on how your bitmap looks like but you can tune the contrast in Gimp or photoshop etc.).
