Is there any way to go back to using the Mac terminal in the latest builds? The proprietary Corona console doesn’t work nearly as well and is slowing my productivity down massively.
Ya this would be an amazing feature. Both for Mac and Windows.
@SDL: What doesn’t work as well? We’d like feedback so we can improve it!
@InfiSnyp: on OS X I can maybe see how you might prefer Terminal over some other presentation but I’d love to hear why you prefer the old Windows “command” window over the new console which removes so many annoyances
The performance isn’t nearly as good. When I have large amounts of printing going on, which I do a lot, the Corona console freezes, and sometimes crashes. The Terminal handled the same thing no problem. Also I can’t hit enter to add spaces into the console, which is nice for visualizing things. And when I select text in the Corona console (in dark mode of course) the text becomes unreadable. Theres not nearly the customization options for color and appearance. And since the Corona console is a sub window under the Corona app, it doesn’t play too well with my desktop spaces, where the Terminal I could tell where to stay.
These are just a few of the issues off the top of my head. There have been others too, I’ll post if I run into any more.
Thanks
Honestly I can’t say anything about Mac as I don’t use that. Only reason I’d like the old one as an option is that I’m really used to it. But over all I like the new one. I really like how now I can see what time I print something. What I dont like is the color… I can’t change it to.my liking. Also I don’t like how the console is now in a separate icon at the bottom when I open the sim.
@SDL The performance should have improved a lot in Daily Build 2845. I’ve noted your other points and will see what I can do.
You can always go back to using “Corona Terminal” which is in the same folder as “Corona Simulator” if you prefer Terminal.

Oh that is perfect thank you, didn’t think of looking for that in there >.< I do hope you improve the console but for now I’m definitely going to use the Terminal.
Thanks
