Video Background

Hey,

I am extremely new to Lua and iPhone dev in general. My company just put me on a new assignment to create an app for the iPhone and iPad. Here’s the situation…

We have a video. That video has tiny “sprite-like” animations in it. I have been given the video and a png sequence of the sprite. What I need to do is have the video play and have the sprites play over top of the video so that they can be manipulated by the user.

Whenever I try to play the video and then the sprite, the video automatically plays over top of the sprite. The only idea I came up with was turn the background video into a png sequence and play it like a movie clip, but this wasn’t what they were wanting. Is there any way to play a video as a background of an app and have the sprite play over top of it?

Thanks for the help. [import]uid: 5885 topic_id: 711 reply_id: 300711[/import]

Apple only supports playing video in their full screen overlay. As far as we know, there’s no way to put something on top of the Apple video player. We hope they fix this in a future SDK. [import]uid: 54 topic_id: 711 reply_id: 1482[/import]
