Volume Control Issue

I have run in to an issue with my app in regards to volume control. On my phone if my volume is turned all the way down (mute) when I launch my game I am not able to adjust the volume. If it is turned up and I launch the app I am able to increase/decrease the volume. The phone still displays the volume control in the app but it does not change when pressing the volume rocker. Has anyone else run in to this and found a solution?

My phone is a Samsung Note 2 and it also happens on my wife’s Galaxy SIII.

Thanks! [import]uid: 64619 topic_id: 35879 reply_id: 335879[/import]

Jason,

Do you currently have the ringer mode set to “silent” or “vibrate” on these devices. Corona currently respects those settings and mutes audio outputs when those modes are enabled… although we’re looking into altering this behavior in the near future. Yes, when the volume control doesn’t work in the Corona app the the phone is on silent and then I launch the app. At that point I can’t control the volume using the physical rocker. [import]uid: 64619 topic_id: 35879 reply_id: 142867[/import]

Right, this is currently by design. If you take your phone out of silent/vibrate mode, then you’ll be able to control the app’s volume. [import]uid: 32256 topic_id: 35879 reply_id: 142927[/import]
