Does Corona able to detect the volume of sounds by the microphone?

Thanks [import]uid: 48794 topic_id: 9316 reply_id: 309316[/import]

Hey there,

Read snarla’s post and code here; http://developer.anscamobile.com/forum/2010/12/27/detect-microphone-volume-blowing-microphone

Is that what you’re after?

Thanks for your info Peach, that exactly what I looking for. I tried the sample in the link that you provided but it didn’t work on my simulator.

I am not certain as I haven’t used that code myself (yet!) - but have you tried building for device to test? Some features will only work on the device itself. [import]uid: 52491 topic_id: 9316 reply_id: 34270[/import]

Are you on Mac or Win? In Corona Windows, you need a recent daily build, audio recording support was only added as of I think build 499. Audio recording is not yet supported on Android (we’re working on it). [import]uid: 6787 topic_id: 9316 reply_id: 35990[/import]

Does the sample code in the link actually output the value in dB? So If I scream or whistle into the mic the value would display the amount of dB my scream or whistle was, if I scream for everything I got it would show…80dB or what ever my scream yields?
