Waiting period for an update.

When I first submitted my game it took Apple 9 days to review and release it. 

I have just sent an update to iTunes Connect. With the app already on the app store will the update be released faster or is it the same waiting period as if it was a new app been uploaded ?

My last update took close to 12 days.  I have a current update currently “waiting for review” for 3 days now.

I don’t think there is a drastic difference between new apps and updates.

It’s crazy the difference between Apple and Androids wait time. That amount of time is far too long to be waiting for an update. I understand with a brand new app but they really need to put a better system in place.

I agree.  I believe there is a way to expedite a request, but that’s also a best effort from Apple.  In cases where you need to get an update out due to a critical issue, you can request to be moved up.
