Warning: Device Not Identified, No Registration Or Ad Unit Will Work

Hi.

Sorry for the newbie question, but I’m trying to run “What’s the picture” app on my android device which downloads fine from playstore, however when I launch it I get a pop window saying :

“This device is not supported”

and the only clue I get on the logs is this error message

I/Corona  ( 3571): [RevMob] WARNING: device not identified, no registration or ad unit will work

I don’t get this message on my phone neither on the logs nor on the device and the app runs fine, can anyone explain what is the meaning of this error ?

Thanks in advance.

Hi @alexgarcia2k,

I have moved this thread to the RevMob sub-forum, as the issue seems directly related to RevMob.

Sincerely,

Brent Sorrentino

It is due to deviceId not returning the device ID anymore, I’m not sure how but revmob seems to be able to tell it isn’t the device ID.  If you use build 1061 it will work, but that is the last one which does.

I’ve sent my app to Apple for review with the latest daily build, does this mean that I should build it with 1061 and re-send it?

Thanks

Ok, I think I’m going to reject the binary and wait till the new RevMob SDK arrives, and then resubmit.

I sent my latest app Rate My Car 2.0 to apple with build 1061 and it has been approved, I will update with the latest build once Revmob release the new sdk.  You could try submitting now with 1061, but it may not make it before 1st May.

I’m glad your app has been approved.

You are right, I think I can not make it to the 1st of May, so I will wait until the new SDK.

I hope this will be published sooner than later.

OT: I’ve download your app and I’m playing around with it, it’s pretty cool!

I wish you the very best of luck!

Hi there,

I’ve contacted with RevMob today, and the new SDK will be out today or tomorrow!

Thank you all for the replies.

I downloaded the game and tried today and the app is working fine on my device.

Thanks !

We have also released a new SDK today, since Corona starts to give support for iOS IDFA, check the change log: http://sdk.revmob.com/corona_download.html
